Lumia 950 CAD sketches & 360-deg video leak. Reveals thickness & other size-specs.

Lumia 950 CAD

After Lumia 950 XL CAD sketches and 360-deg videos, Lumia 950 CAD sketches and 360-deg videos have been leaked by Onleaks now!! The good thing is that not only the sketches provide a good look into the device’s design in a 360 demo, but also reveal the size specs of 144.9 x 73.2 x 7.6/9.1 mm. Lumia 950 is slightly thinner than Lumia 950 XL at 7.6 mm but will measure 9.1 mm at the camera module.

Check the 360-deg video below.  The thickness of Lumia 950 is pretty close to Microsoft defined standard size specs of 7.5 mm for Premium Lumia (Windows 10 Mobile) devices.

A recent leak via official slides has not only confirmed the specs of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL but also has gave use pretty good look at how the devices will look in real-life.

We have also posted a comparison between Lumia 950 / 950 XL and latest iPhone 6S and 6S Plus that gives you a good idea about how four devices compare to each other in terms of specifications, feature and price.

The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are supposed to be launched during the upcoming October 6 event.

I’m very impressed with the thickness of L950. It is only 7.6 mm comparing to L830’s 8.5 mm, L930’s 9.8 mm and L920’s 10.7 mm. L950XL is 7.8 mm and getting close to iPhone 6S Plus’ 7.3 mm. I’m sure MS can do even better if they remove the wireless charging, removable battery and microSD. But I rather not. Both L950 and L950XL are thin enough for me.

    Some thoughts…
Comparing the 950 specs above to the 950XL specs we have seen from the same source, it looks like the camera bump is larger on the 950XL by 0.8mm
The camera lens is not aligned in the middle of the device on the 950XL but it is aligned to the middle in teh 950.
The flash alone is not going to cause the difference in height as the flash is outside the camera bump on the 950.
The headphone socket is not in the middle of the device on the 950 as it is on the 950XL.
So, having said allo this, it does seem not only the SOC is different in the two devices, but the physical layout is different (in part probably due to the different SOC) but it does beg some questions such as, perhaps there are some actual differences with the camera between the two? Perhaps there are more lenses in the 950XL? or perhaps a more sophisticated OIS?
I am unsure which way to go … i am not sure i want a big phone, and if the 950 provides a more stable battery life expectation, perhaps that is the phone for me….?

Starting to sound and look a lot like my next phone… the XL is probably a bit too big for my liking, but will have to see in person.
