Juha Alakarhu is back at Nokia Technologies as “Head of Imaging”

You may already know about Juha Alakarhu, the head of imaging earlier at Nokia and later at Microsoft. Juha, the man behind many PureView imaging advancements has decided to join Nokia Technologies now leaving his current job at Microsoft. It looks like a great news for those waiting for Nokia Android phones with “great cameras”, as confirmed coming by our sources, though currently Juha has joined the OZO team as head of imaging. But Nokia is well-known for giving wider responsibilities to its top talents.

Coming to what it may mean for Surface Phone, Microsoft has consistently highlighted a business focus for its upcoming Windows 10 Mobile smartphone. So, it is not clear what level of focus the imaging will have in such scenario, but Juha’s departure is not less than a blow for fans and may be for Microsoft too!!

    Wooooohoooo

am so happy, lets hope HMD will use some of Nokia OZO technology

    • PNHD

It’s guaranteed it will use Nokia tech since HMD has a licensing deal with Nokia Technologies and their ceo has a board seat in HMD. I also like what i read in a WC comment that OZO could be the new brand name for Nokia cameras replacing Pureview.

Not sure if I see OZO replacing PureView branding for their future smartphone cameras. OZO is currently just their VR camera product but the branding is less important as long as PureView like tech is brought back to their smartphones I could care less what they call it.
