India may be fast becoming one of those major markets, where Windows Phone has not only seen good adoption but is also getting lots of attention from developers. Even the entities like Railways, Media houses, Bollywood (Indian Cinema Industry) have seen their applications (in some case exclusives like IRCTC app) coming to Windows Phone platform first.

Blockbuster Movie franchises like Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3 have seen their games first releasing on Windows Phone store and raking in millions of downloads even before launching on other platforms.

According to a report in ET,

A game based on the upcoming action movie Dhoom 3 starring Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan was downloaded nearly a million times on Microsoft’s MS platform before it was launched on Apple’s iOS and Google’s Playstore.Another modelled on Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 3 was also launched first on the MS platform and has so far seen some 2.5-million downloads. Both games were made with support from Microsoft, according to their developers.

Microsoft and Nokia have worked closely with these developers and helped even in marketing of such games. Nokia has even got these games on low-cost Asha phones and even Dhoom saw 9,43,000 downloads on the Nokia low-end phones before launching on Android and iPhones. Microsoft thinks movie based apps need less investment while developers are happy because of help from Microsoft in launch and marketing of the games. So, it looks like a win-win situation for both Microsoft and developer.

A movie, for instance, “already has promotions and context”, so a game based on it requires less investment in advertisement compared with one that has a new storyline, said Vineet Durani, director of Windows phone business group at Microsoft in India.

        WP8 = windows phone 8

      Ok, so you mean to ask, why is Don2 not available on Windows Phone 8? Didn’t Don2 happen long time back. Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3 are so much recent flicks. It is still 2:1 in favor of Windows Phone and Android has already been in India for so long, much before Windows Phone.

        I said that in the app description, there is that, because the success of krrish 3 the game they made don 2 game, even if the movie was released Long time back the game came after krrish 3 the game.

        krrish 3 the game was released, it was so successful that they made after it don2 the game but not for windows phone 8 even so krrish 3 was an hit on wp8
