I never thought I would make a dedicated review for a case. But there’s always a first. From the first time the rugged case popped up in third party website, it generated a lot of interest and questions. Most importantly, was it really meant for the Skyline or was it just wrong advertising?
So, I decided to buy one to know more about this case and it is also the most expensive one that I have at the moment.
This is my experience with the rugged case for HMD Skyline.
HMD Skyline Rugged Case
It seems that the rugged case is indeed meant for the Skyline but it also suggests that other HMD devices will have a similar case. And it is also stated that it is manufactured by HMD Global, which means that this is an official accessory.
The rugged case has 3 important features. It bumps the IP54 protection on the Skyline to IP68 water and dust resistance. It also gives it an all-around protection from drops and it has built in magnets for wireless charging purposes.
It is best to see the case in action to know how it achieves the above. And this is probably the most interesting accessory by HMD to compliment its device till date.
