HERE, Nokia’s mapping business has been the leader in automotive grades maps and most of cars out there with embedded navigation use HERE Maps or HERE Maps data. Nokia has also shown lots of interest in pursuing the connected car and self-driving car opportunities. They have even announced a $100 mn fund for connected cars.
We have earlier seen self-driving concept car video from Mercedes and powered by HERE mapping data. The car is named S 500 and is described by Merc as,
The firm describes the S-Class as, “The embodiment of the cutting edge technology that has placed Mercedes at the forefront of the automotive industry.” It is Mercedes’ showcase for new technology that will eventually find its way across the range.
