As we all know that Google has introduced a new system-wide Dark mode with the Android 10 update, the company is also busy updating its different apps into the Dark mode ecosystem.
Now we have another app from Google getting updated with the Dark mode functionality. The company has now started rolling out an update to the Gmail app for Android platform where you can get the Dark mode.
How to enable:
With this update, the company has enabled the Dark mode functionality in the Gmail app on Android platform.
- In order to enable the Dark mode on Android 10, you need to go to Android Display system setting, set your device to Dark theme—Gmail will automatically respect the system default setting.
- On Pixel devices, when Battery Saver is enabled, Gmail will default to Dark theme automatically.
- In Android version 9 or lower, you need to open the GMail app and go to Settings>Theme and select ‘Dark’ here to enable the Dark Mode.
The update is now being rolled out and could take 15 days or so to be visible on your device. This feature will also respect the default system settings of Android 10.
