Google is testing another AI-powered productivity feature in Chrome Canary for Android. The latest Canary build introduces a new Gemini-powered “Find and Fill” experience, allowing users to search through their saved autofill information directly from a new bottom sheet while filling out forms.
The feature is part of Google’s growing Personal Intelligence with Gemini initiative, bringing AI-assisted autofill capabilities to Chrome on Android.
Gemini Helps You Find Saved Autofill Information
When enabled, users will see a new bottom sheet interface while interacting with text fields. Instead of manually scrolling through saved addresses, passwords, or payment information, the new experience lets users search their stored autofill data using natural language.
Google describes the experience as being powered by Personal Intelligence with Gemini, enabling users to:
- Search saved autofill information instantly
- Ask Gemini to recall information from Connected Apps
- Quickly insert relevant saved data into text fields
- Reduce the time spent manually locating stored credentials or personal information
This marks another step toward making Chrome’s autofill experience more intelligent through AI.
New “Enhanced Autofill” Settings Page
Alongside the new autofill interface, Google has also added a dedicated Enhanced Autofill settings page inside Chrome for Android.
The new settings section includes a toggle for:
- Find and fill with Gemini
Users who prefer the traditional autofill experience can disable the AI-powered search functionality entirely from this page.
The addition suggests Google plans to give users more control over AI-assisted features as they continue rolling out across Chrome.
Powered by Personal Intelligence with Gemini
Google has been steadily expanding Personal Intelligence with Gemini across its ecosystem, allowing AI to securely access user-approved information for more personalized assistance.
With Find and Fill, Gemini can help surface relevant saved information while users complete forms, making autofill significantly faster and easier than the traditional method.
The feature is expected to evolve further before reaching the stable version of Chrome.
Currently Limited to Chrome Canary
At the moment, the new Find and Fill with Gemini experience is only available in Chrome Canary for Android, indicating that Google is still actively testing the feature before a wider rollout.
As with most Canary-exclusive features, there’s no official timeline for when it will arrive in Chrome Beta or the stable release.
Final Thoughts
The arrival of Gemini-powered autofill search highlights Google’s broader strategy of integrating AI into everyday browser tasks. Instead of simply suggesting saved information, Chrome is moving toward allowing users to search and retrieve autofill data conversationally, potentially making form filling much more efficient.
If testing goes well, Find and Fill with Gemini could become one of Chrome’s most useful AI-powered productivity features for Android users.
