In a surprise roll-out by Nokia Mobile, Android 11 update may have just become available for Nokia 3.2. One of our reader shared screenshot of the smartphone receiving Android 11 update with us.
Update: Nokia Mobile just confirmed Android 11 roll-out to Nokia 3.2 with a list of wave 1 markets. These markets will receive the Android 11 update first.
Hello Nokia 3.2 users,
Great news for you, the rollout for Android 11 starts now!
To provide a smooth rollout, we dispatch the update in Waves.
Wave 1 includes:
- Hong Kong
- Sri Lanka
10% of these approved markets will receive the update immediately, 50% by March 26th, and on March 28th, 100% of these markets will have received the Android 11 update.
The screenshot reveals that Android 11 build that Nokia 3.2 is receiving is V3.140. The update is 1.43GB in size. The update roll-out information is from India.
This roll-out comes as a surprise as Nokia 3.2 was supposed to receive the update in the beginning of Q2 2021. All other Nokia smartphones with the exception of Nokia 8.3 5G that were supposed to get the update before Nokia 3.2 haven’t received the update yet. If you check the original roadmap, Nokia 8.1, Nokia 5.3, Nokia 2.2, Nokia 1.3, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 2.3, Nokia 2.4, and Nokia 3.4 were supposed to get the update before Nokia 3.2.
While Nokia 8.3 5G was always supposed to be the first Nokia smartphone to get Android 11, the update got delayed to February for the smartphone. Later HMD CPO Juho Sarvikas took to Twitter to post an encouraging tweet for Nokia smartphone owners. Juho promised repeating the feat of being the fastest in deploying Android 9 and 10 portfolio-wide in case of Android 11 too.
