Windows Phone gaming will see a Turbo Charge from Qualcomm

We all use our phones for gaming, so Microsoft wants to make sure we are getting everything we can out of our devices when it comes to gaming.  Microsoft has been working with Qualcomm to make sure our gaming experience is flawless.  They also made the DirectX 12 gaming environment official, usually Qualcomm’s SoC’s are not made for that gaming environment, but Qualcomm is working side by side with Microsoft to make it work perfectly.  According to our source this will “turbocharge” the gaming experience.

If you have seen some of our recently YouTube videos of my testing the Icon you could see I use my phone for all kinds of gaming.  I am honestly not sure how the gaming could get better, but this is something I am looking forward to in the near future.

Thanks Vlad for the tip. Cheers!!

I am an information systems major. I am a big nokia fan and I am glad to be part of the Nokia power user team. I am also a big fan of fantasy football and fantasy hockey. Currently using a Lumia Icon. Have a nice read and feel free to share your feedback. @fantasyandfones

In order for Windows Phone to expand on the lower end, they need to support non-Qualcomm SoCs.

Only SoCs such as Mediatek can do this, which is why low end Android phones are so much cheaper despite having the same specs as low end Windows Phones

  • Can You test Nokia Lumia Icon with Basemark X gaming benchmark? Nokia Lumia 1520 is now on the 2nd place, because HTC One M8 beated it slightly. On the 3rd place is now Sony Xperia Z2 and on the 4th place is Samsung Galaxy S5.

I hope and believe that Nokia Lumia Icon and Nokia Lumia 1520 will get even better gaming performance after Windows Phone 8.1 update.
