WhatsApp gets support for sharing of all kinds of files

WhatsApp is now rolling out support for sharing of all kinds of files. This feature has been enabled in the backend and is rolling out in many markets across the globe. Once this feature gets enabled you would be able to share APK files, archive, media and all other kinds of files.

Before this WhatsApp had support for only csv, doc, docx, pdf, ppt, pptx, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx and similar kinds of files. The maximum file size that can be shared using WhatsApp depends upon the platform you are using. You can check the file sizes for OS that use and even for Web/Desktop below.

iOS = 128 MB

Windows Phone = 104.86 MB

Android = 100 MB

Web/Desktop = 64 MB

After activation of this feature, one can share photos and video without being compressed.
