Last we saw a glimpse of VLC player app for Windows Phone, the developer Thoma Nigro mentioned it coming after release of “Public version” of Windows Phone 8.1. Windows Phone 8.1 (Lumia Cyan) has started rolling out to devices OTA and it seems VLC player for Windows Phone is not far away either.

In reply to a question, the dev also reveals that the app will come with auto-load of videos and music from both phone and MicroSD card, something which may be termed as on expected lines.
@mahmudit88 We will check Video + sd card for videos, music folder + sd card for music. + a file picker to open file you want from anywhere — Thomas Nigro (@ThomasNigro) July 25, 2014
