After German Car Makers BMW, Audi and Daimler along with Chinese giant Baidu launching a formal bid to acquire majority share in HERE, it is time for Uber to join the bidding war. Uber has reportedly offered a quite modest $3 Billion sum for acquiring HERE. The offer made by Uber pales in comparison to what German Car Makers are reportedly offering for a Majority stake. The consortium of German Car makers may offer “considerably more than €2 billion” for a majority stake in HERE.
Now, if we consider CEO Suri’s statement that Nokia can be sold in part or full, it seems that Nokia may let Car Makers acquire majority stake or may sell only the connected-car business to them. Nokia may still keep a part of HERE either in form of a minority share or may decide to keep the HERE’s consumer & corporate business for itself.
