First “Counterpoint research” claimed Nokia and Windows Phone have outsold iOS and Apple in China for the month of August contrary to what “Kantar Worldpanel report” has suggested.
Now, according to TrendForce research, Nokia may hold 8.2% smartphone market share of China as compared to 8.8% by Apple. According to the report Nokia is the 3rd largest smartphone vendor in China.
The TrendForce figures show Samsung claims 21.5% of the Chinese smartphone market, with second-placed Apple claiming 8.8%, Nokia claiming 8.2% and Huawei on 8%.
According to the figures, Xiaomi now claims 7.1% of the market, ahead of HTC (6.8%), Lenovo (6.3%) and ZTE (5.1%).
This actually puts some doubt about Kantar Worldpanel report’s of China, which gives 21% sales share to Apple, while according to other two reports, Nokia is either outselling or close to Apple in China smartphone market share.
Anyways, as our Tipster “TS” has mentioned, 80 x 8.2% = 6.5 million is huge if true!!
