HMD has now started offering the Stable Oreo 8.1 update for Nokia 2 as promised. The process to receive the update is very similar to the Beta enrollment process and one needs to go to the Oreo 8.1 page by following the link below.
Once there you need to,
- Validate your device with your IMEI code.
- Enter your network operator name.
- Add your location.
- Agree to the “Android Oreo for Nokia 2 software license terms”.
- Once completed, simply select the Request OTA button.
In case your device was enrolled to the Nokia 2 Oreo Beta, all you need to do is go to the “Upgrade to Android Oreo software over-the-air” where your device is shown on that page and request for the “OTA” update.
HMD announced earlier that it is willing to provideĀ two options to Nokia 2 users, either remain on Nougat and enjoy the optimized performance or move to Oreo that will bring new features but may not be as fluid as Nougat. So, choice is yours.
Now, another very important thing that you need to know is that currently Oreo 8.1 for Nokia 2 is not available in all the markets and HMD has provided a list of markets/operators on which it is not available.
