HMD provided two options to Nokia 2 users, either remain on Nougat and enjoy the optimized performance or move to Oreo that will bring new features but may not be as fluid as Nougat. However, the option to upgrade to Oreo was pulled later because of some update release issues. But now it seems that upgrade to Oreo 8.1 option is again available for Nokia 2 users.

If you go to the dedicated update page (link below) and request for the OTA update you will receive a big update with November security patch, which will upgrade your Nokia 2 to Oreo again. The process to receive the update is very similar to the Beta enrollment process and one needs to go to the Oreo 8.1 page by following the link below.

Once there you need to,

  1. Validate your device with your IMEI code.
  2. Enter your network operator name.
  3. Add your location.
  4. Agree to the “Android Oreo for Nokia 2 software license terms”.
  5. Once completed, simply select the Request OTA button.
