Microsoft CEO

After long rounds of discussions and many contradictory reports in the media, India-born Satya Nadella has been finally named Microsoft’s new CEO.

As reported earlier as a possibility, Bill gates has been made ” Founder and Technology advisor” on the request of new CEO Satya Nadella. He has been succeeded as the chairman by John Thompson, as was rumored earlier.

  • Congratulations, Hindustan.

      Thanks Nadir for your wishes!!

Maybe I can answer my own question as I have just seen that his email to staff included this sentence:

“While the deal is not yet complete, we will welcome to our family Nokia devices and services and the new mobile capabilities they bring us.”

I’m interested because I think my Nokia shares would very much fall in price (maybe short term only) if the deal were cancelled.

In fact, Satya Nadella’s big test lies in “how he handles the devices going forward” and how he uses this acquisition to Microsoft’s advantage.

  • Jay

Does anyone have any feeling as to whether Nadella is keen to close the Devices & Services acquisition, or may he want to cancel it?

Just like the Pole Ioannes Paulus II became pope 1978 and gave hope to all Poles, Satya Nadella became MSFT CEO and gave hope to all Indian people.

A great day for India, isn’t it ?

    • Kamal

It indeed is proud moment for Indians and we have more, like Indra Nooyi the Pepsi CEO. And more can follow yet. Rajeev suri for Nokia :P.

Congrats to Satya. He made a wise statement in wanting Gates to be an ongoing consultant considering all of Gates shares he owns, good office politics move in the Microsoft culture. I impressed.
