Samsung is preparing to expand its wearable portfolio into uncharted territory. A massive new leak has unveiled the design and feature set of the Galaxy Buds On—marking the South Korean tech giant’s first foray into open-ear, loop-style audio gear.
Moving away from the traditional silicon-tip TWS setup, the upcoming earbuds prioritize situational awareness, long-wearing comfort, and deep AI ecosystem integration.
Open-Ear, Clip-On Aesthetic Built for All-Day Wear
The leaked renders show a dual-module design connected by a flexible silicone bridge, allowing the earbuds to clip neatly around the outer ear. By leaving the ear canal completely unblocked, listeners can enjoy audio while staying fully aware of their surrounding environment.
Colorways: Black and White.
Charging Interface: Standard pogo pin connector mechanism inside a compact boxy case.
Design Philosophy: Open-ear air-conduction targeting runners, commuters, and desk workers who dislike in-ear pressure.
Gesture Controls, Auto Volume, and Sleep Detection
Despite skipping heavy audio hardware features like Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and 360 Audio—which don’t align with open-air earbud physics—Samsung is packing the Galaxy Buds On with intelligent software capabilities.
Smart Playback Controls
Touch & Head Gestures: Intuitive touch zones paired with head movement tracking for hands-free call answering or track skipping.
Auto Volume & Volume Boost: Dynamic ambient adjustment that scales sound up in noisy stations or outdoor streets and lowers it in quiet rooms.
Galaxy AI & Sleep Integration
Instant Voice Summaries: Built-in voice recording lets users capture dictations or quick notes, automatically converting them into structured text summaries via Galaxy AI.
Smart Sleep Pause: Using real-time monitoring, the earbuds detect when you fall asleep and automatically pause playback to save battery and protect your ears.
Dual Voice Assistants: Native support for both Bixby and Google Gemini for instant voice queries and smart home triggers.
