We recently reported about Nokia Mobile registering strong growth in smartphone shipments in Q2 2021. Now another report reveals that Nokia was 4th top smartphones brand in the Nordic countries in the second quarter of 2021.
As per the report by analyst firm Strategy Analytics, Nokia Mobile held 5% market share in Q2 2021 in Nordic countries. Though the report also confirms that this market share has decreased by 12% on a Year-on-Year basis.
Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi registered strong market share growths in the same period. Xiaomi in fact was the fastest growing brand with 73% market share growth Year-on-Year.
With a tech oriented and sophisticated consumer base both Samsung and Apple’s premium flagships have found broad appeal. Huawei’s and LG’s pull out clearly benefited the top two vendors who together captured over half of all shipments to this sub region in Q2 2021. Xiaomi, HMD (Nokia) and OnePlus took the third, fourth and fifth position respectively. The top five now account for over 8 in 10 devices shipped to this sub- region. HMD (Nokia) is under pressure with volume declining in the sub region YoY.
A Q2 2021 report from the analyst firm CounterPoint research claimed that Nokia smartphones shipments grew by 36% in the second quarter of 2021 compared to Q1 2021. The report attributes this growth to the launch of Nokia 1.4, G and C series of smartphones.
Nokia Mobile shipped nearly 12.8 million handsets in the Q2 2021. This Q2 shipment figure includes 10.1 million Nokia feature phones and 2.7 million smartphone units. Nokia was the second biggest brand in terms of market share in the feature phone market grabbing 18 per cent of the feature phone market share.
