Vivo’s OriginOS is known for smooth animations and deep visual tweaks. However, its locked quick settings layout has been a headache for power users.
That is about to change.
According to recent details from the OriginOS 7 Android 17 beta liquid glass leak, Vivo and iQOO devices are getting a major overhaul. The update brings total Control Centre customization and a fresh “Liquid Glass” design language to the home screen.
1. Customizable Control Centre & Top Fixed Icons
In older versions of OriginOS, the top Control Centre blocks were permanently locked. You couldn’t move or remove them.
Early details from the OriginOS 7 internal beta experience confirm that OriginOS 7 gives you complete control over your layout:
Editable Top Cards: You can now swap, reorder, or completely remove top fixed modules. This includes Wi-Fi/cellular cards, the Media Player, Sound mode, Volume and Brightness sliders, and connected smartwatch widgets (like the iQOO Watch tile).
Granular Toggle Control: Tapping the edit button displays minus badges on individual shortcuts. This lets you delete unused toggles and reorder the lower grid to fit your daily routine.
2. The “Liquid Glass” Visual Redesign
Vivo is also upgrading the interface aesthetics with a high-gloss Liquid Glass theme. This design adds realistic 3D depth and translucency across core system elements.
Refractive Floating Dock: The bottom dock bar features a thick, glossy glass finish. Core app icons—like Messages, Contacts, Phone, and Browser—sit inside a container that reflects light with soft, curved edges.
Minimalist Search Pill: A subtle, translucent search capsule floats right above the dock bar, blending seamlessly into your wallpaper.
Fluid Motion & Physics: Smooth spring animations and background blurs give the interface a natural, tactile feel when opening apps or pulling down the Quick Settings shade.
3. What’s Next for OriginOS 7?
With the OriginOS 7 beta experience recruitment underway, Vivo is collecting user feedback to polish these interface changes before the final release.
Between full Quick Settings editability and the stunning Liquid Glass theme, OriginOS 7 is shaping up to be one of the most flexible and stylish Android updates of the year.
