HMD has today announced the sooner roll-out of the official Android 10 update for Nokia 8.1 in a mail sent to all Nokia 8.1 Android 10 Dev preview participants. If you are on the official Android Pie update or on Android 10 Beta 5 update (the last OTA update) you would get the official Android 10 update automatically.
In case you are still on Android 10 Beta 3 you need to install the Beta 5 build in order to receive the official Android 10 update.
Hello, Nokia 8.1 developer previewer!
Thanks to your contribution towards stabilizing Android 10 for Nokia 8.1, we’ll soon be able to roll out the official Android 10 release to approved markets.
Please note that in order to receive the official Android 10 build, your Nokia 8.1 must currently be running one of the following
- The official Android 9 Pie release. You can roll back your device to the latest official release from the Nokia phone Android developer preview site, at any time.
- Android 10 Beta 5 build: V4.070 or V5.070. If you navigate to “About phone”, these will be referred to as 00WW_4_070 or 00WW_5_070 respectively.
Please note, if you are still running the Beta 3 build, you must update your device to Beta 5 as soon as possible. Devices running the Beta 3 build will not receive the official Android 10 release.
Nokia 8.1 is the only Nokia smartphone that was eligible to enroll to Android 10 dev preview and other Nokia smartphones will get Android 10 update as per the roadmap shared by HMD earlier.
