NSN (Nokia Solution and Networks) has said today that it has signed 7 deals in India in Jan-June period. These deals include fresh wi-fi contracts with two operators and renewal of 2G and 3G contracts with three telecom players. The revenue from Indian operations during the period was 314 million euro and India revenue contribute around six per cent to NSN’s global revenues. They also mentioned that the company is improving profitability and in next few years 3G deployment will be rapid.

Girotra said the deployment of 3G services network is likely to take off in a significant manner over the next few years, as there is ample demand for the technology.

“There is plenty of demand for 3G…its rollout will happen and 3G coverage will be build in the coming few years,” Girotra said.

It is really good to see NSN doing well, more so when it is now a Nokia business division :).
