Introduction

HMD Global has a new mantra, Love It, Trust It and Keep It. This is a departure from their earlier tagline, Pure, Secure and Up to date. If we try to dissect this further, one noticeable change here is that the new mantra puts the people at the centre of the ownership of the device. And this changes are seen in their shift in strategy as well,  where new devices not only retain their earlier promise of updates but also well balanced device which is meant to increase productivity while maintaining reasonable pricing.

Nokia T20

The first tablet made by HMD Global, the Nokia T20 was announced in October 2021. It has Android 11 onboard, weighs in at a measly 470g for the LTE version and a thickness of 7.8mm.The 10.4inch IPS LCD display has a resolution of 1200  x 2000 pixels which gives it a pixel density of 224ppi. The display is protected with a scratch resistant glass and has a brightness of 400nits and is certified low blue light!

The device is powered by Unisoc T610 processor which is an Octa-core processor with Mali G-52 MP2 complimenting on the GPU side. The LTE version has 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage which can be further expanded with a micro SD card. The 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera allows you not only to take good quality photos on the go, but also for HD quality video calls.

The tablet also packs a stereo speaker with OZO playback which makes it an ideal infotainment device and has a 3.5mm headphone jack on board, a rarity these days. One of its highlights is the 8200mAh battery which supports a 15W fast charging capability. This gives you up to 7 hours of online meetings, 10 hours of movies and 15 hours of surfing the web which is beyond what we usually do in a day.

A work in progress

The Nokia T20 was extensively reviewed at this site much earlier. This will be my take on the Nokia T20 and in the weeks to come, I will be sharing more on its features and what makes the Nokia T20 a compelling tablet to own. The burning question is, where is the Android 12 update? For now, your guess is as good as mine.

In the mean time, this is a simple unboxing and initial impression video for the Nokia T20
