Nokia planning HERE Connected Driving apps based on Android

HERE_Auto_6This is another HERE and Android related scoop, yet again from another Nokia Job posting. Seems HERE is not only bringing its mapping and navigation apps to Android and iOS, it will also release its Connected driving apps suite based on Android framework. This looks like a really interesting step by Nokia to counter Google’s recently announced connected car related offering “Android Auto”.

Within HERE, the business group Connected Driving was created to address exciting and far-reaching changes in the automotive industry. The Connected Driving mission is to make driving smarter, safer and more enjoyable by delivering best-in-class:
•    Driver Experiences;
•    Traffic and Dynamic Content;
•    Sensor Analytics; and
•    Autonomous Driving

The Brought-in Solutions and Community Team within HERE Connected Driving is looking for an experienced Android Developer.

Are you ready to innovate the next generation of applications for the world’s leader vehicle navigation and location based services? We are seeking a creative and capable developer to join our tight-knit, innovative and collaborative team. This individual will focus on creating high quality, feature-rich Android applications utilizing Android’s framework.
