Nokia Mobile aka HMD Global will focus on profitable smartphone business growth in India. It is also planning to bring more Android tablets to India after launching Nokia T20 recently in the market.

Sanmeet Singh Kochhar, Vice President for HMD Global (India and MENA) revealed Nokia Mobile’s plans for India in interviews with publications India Today and Economic times. With Nokia T20 getting good traction in Indian market, Nokia Mobile will expand the segment by introducing new Tablets in the coming days.

Sanmeeet also talked about Nokia Mobile’s increased focus on Audio accessories. Nokia Mobile will focus on bringing more audio accessories like TWS earphones, wired headphones and more to India in 2022. Terming TWS earbuds and wired headphones “big markets” in India right now, he talked about getting into different price bands within this segment with a variety of products.

Coming to Nokia smartphones, Nokia Mobile will follow its exiting strategy of targeting segments that can ensure “profitable growth”, it seems. Sanmeet claimed that Nokia Mobile has a profitable smartphones business in India and would like to do business in a sustainable manner.

HMD Global is also planning to start exporting Nokia 105 and other Nokia feature phones from India to other markets. It is also exploring the possibility to manufacture Nokia Tablets in India for export purposes.
