Introduction

The Nokia G42 5G is the first device from HMD Global to receive the Android 14 update. From the information gathered, the update started to roll out in parts of Europe first , followed by in UAE and it will be reaching more markets soon. It is interesting to see that the G42 5G receives the updates first, but this move is a significant one.

The Nokia G42 5G is a device meant to reaffirm HMD Global’s commitment to the global market. The device was launched in India about 6 months later than the global launch but the device was priced aggressively and a higher variant was also introduced there. But make no mistake, while the G42 5G may seem like a midrange device, it is a complete package. Multi day battery life , a good screen with high contrast, and an impressive camera.

While I am nitpicking, the only thing that I felt could be improved further is the video recording stability. Other than that, this is a device that exceeded my expectation and is easily one that I would recommend for those looking for an affordable budget device that looks good, feels good and performs brilliantly well.

Do expect the update to roll out in batches and that also means the update for X30, G60 and XR21 is just around the corner!

This is the live update process of the Nokia G42 5G and in the next couple of days, I will be sharing my experience on X so do follow me https://twitter.com/theoriginal086.
