Google yesterday confirmed the name of the latest Android iteration, the Android 9 Pie and also started rolling it out to Pixel devices. We have been facing many questions about probable release date of Android Pie for Nokia smartphones since then.
So, in its official Blog Post, Google has mentioned that all Android One devices including those enrolled to the Android P Beta will get it by end of the fall.
Coming to a device near you
Starting today, an over-the-air update to Android 9 will begin rolling out to Pixel phones. And devices that participated in the Beta program from Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Essential, as well as all qualifying Android One devices, will receive this update by the end of this fall. We’re also working with a number of other partners to launch or upgrade devices to Android 9 this year.
So, as expected devices like Nokia 7 Plus will be one of the first ones to get upgraded to Android 9 Pie. We earlier reported via a tip that the roll-out may beginĀ starting August and we may see Nokia 7 Plus getting finished and final Android 9 Pie update by end of the August.
Other Nokia Android smartphones may join the Android 9 Pie fun September onwards with Android One smartphones like Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco getting it before others. But finally all existing Nokia smartphones will get Android Pie as confirmed repeatedly by HMD.
