So, it doesn’t stop at “PureView” and HMD seems to be on a trademark registering spree. The latest two in the list are PureDisplay and Face Unlock. PureDisplay, as many Nokia fans can easily guess has the recall of old Nokia PureMotion and Clear Black Display trademarks.

The second trademark Face Unlock seems to be the feature that Nokia Android smartphones are waiting for quite some time. Now, it seems HMD has indeed a Face Unlock method of its own that it will bring to its smartphones.

But this spurt in “trademark registration” does raise a valid question. Is HMD preparing for the big launch of Nokia 9 with PureView Camera, PureDisplay and Face Unlock??

This seems quite possible as HMD has been working on the Penta-Lens camera and may be a very good OLED display for the flagship. The description of PureDisplay does mention OLED displays.

Mobile phones; Smart phones; Tablet computers; Handheld media players; Displays for smart phones; Displays for mobile phones; Displays for Tablet computers; Displays for handheld media players; Touch displays; Light emitting diode (LED) displays; Apparatus for recording, transmission or reproduction of sound or images.

So, we may be in for exciting times ahead. IFA 2018 is not far away and if these trademarks are some indication we may see Nokia flagship launching soon.

Thanks Finlanders for the tip. Cheers!!
