Nokia 5 received the Android September patch update even before Nexus and Pixel devices. Nokia 6 followed it and received the update after few days. Now, it is the turn of Nokia 8 to get the September Android Security update. Though Nokia 8 is not yet available in many markets including India, the markets in which it is available are seeing the Security update roll-out.
You will either be prompted to download this update or you can check by going to Settings and searching system updates and then by checking for the update.
HMD has been quite consistent in terms of releasing Monthly Security updates and OS updates for Nokia smartphones already available in the market. HMD has also made it clear that all Nokia Android Phones will receive minimum two years of OS update support.
