Introduction
Nokia 8.3 5G is one of the most well crafted Nokia device in recent times. The device which was suppose to usher a new era for HMD Global after the Nokia 9 Pureview’s underwhelming reviews was a subject to many controversies.
The device was planned to be launched along side the final James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig and it was suppose to reintroduce Nokia in the global platform. Unfortunately, due to the onset on the pandemic and the subsequent delay in the release of the movie, Nokia 8.3 5G reception didn’t go as intended. The initial Android 10 that it came with was pretty stable and battery life was really amazing. It was build like a tank, perform admirably well and has one of the best Pureview setups. Unfortunately, the Android 11 update led to many frustrations with random app crashing, camera not launching and even failing to save images.
As usual one the highlights of my review has been the camera performance. The Pureview setup is certainly good and had the best video stabilization in a Nokia device. Unfortunately compared to Nokia 9 Pureview, the colors are flat and the portrait modes are barely passable. I am hoping that Android 12 will finally bring justice to this device.
The Update
To make things clearer, here is my live video of updating the device from Android 11 to Android 12 with no cuts, so viewers get to experience how the update process goes. I will be attaching some screenshots below to show the cosmetic changes. Do stay tuned for my in depth camera review on the Nokia 8.3 5G with Android 12.
