HMD has thanked and welcomed the new Nokia 6 2018 users with the release of Android 8.1 Oreo update today. The update brings the Android 8.1 Oreo new features and changes but also is expected to bring performance improvements as seen on Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 2017. The Oreo 8.1 update also brings the April Security update with itself.
Nokia 6 2018 ran Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and hence some features were expected to arrive with the 8.1 Oreo update. As we write this article our new and shiny Nokia 6 2018 is already downloading and installing the update.
How to update & update size:
You will either be prompted to download this update or you can check by going to Settings and searching system updates and then by checking for the update. The update is around 801.4 MB in size and you need to be on WiFi to download and install it.

April Security update Changelog:
The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in Media framework that could enable a remote attacker using a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileged process. Theseverity assessment is based on the effect that exploiting the vulnerability would possibly have on an affected device, assuming the platform and service mitigations are turned off for development purposes or if successfully bypassed.
