HMD is making good use of the remaining days in January month. It has started pushing the January security update to Nokia 5.1 Plus, Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 8 Sirocco today.

Nokia 5.1 Plus update size:
The update for Nokia 5.1 Plus is 57.5 MB in size. You will either be prompted to download this update or you can check by going to Settings and searching system updates and then by checking for the update.
Nokia 8.1 update size:
The update for Nokia 8.1 is 67.2 MB in size. You will either be prompted to download this update or you can check by going to Settings and searching system updates and then by checking for the update.
Nokia 5.1 Plus, Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 8 Sirocco January Security update changelog:
The changelog mentions only the January Android Security update. It brings fix for many security issues. The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in System that could enable a remote attacker using a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileged process.

HMD has been quite consistent in terms of releasing Monthly Security updates and OS updates for Nokia smartphones already available in the market. HMD has also made it clear that all Nokia Android Phones will receive minimum two years of OS update support.
