Nokia 2660 Flip Review: Flip It

5

Introduction

With the Nokia 2660 Flip and its awesome looking charging cradle in the house, this completes the trio that debut a few weeks back. With all three devices, it is clear that each devices are meant for specific audience.

If the Nokia 8210 4G is meant to rekindle your memories of the original device, the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio would appeal even the newer generation of consumers looking for a funky back up device. So, what about the Nokia 2660 Flip?

Nokia 2660 Flip

The flip comes in three elegant colour, blue, black and red. The body is solid, made of a durable polycarbonate shell the unit at hand is blue which looks premium. Weighing at 123g, it comes in either a single sim or a dual sim variant. Being a flip phone, it has an external 1.77in and an internal 2.8in display. Similar to the other 2 devices reviewed earlier, this one too runs on a Unisoc T107 processor at 1GHz with 48MB RAM.

A single 0.3MP camera with LED flash, but despite the camera sitting just above the external display, no means of taking selfie as only one display is active at a time. It supports memory card for expanded storage, a 3.5mm head jack and the1450mAh battery charges via a micro-USB 2.0 port. A peculiar information in GSMArena is that the bluetooth  version in this device is 4.2 unlike the 5.0 LE support for the 5710 XpressAudio and 8210 4G.

The ultimate question, who is this for? The hardware seems to be more oriented for the elderly population. Right from it more durable built, to its large keypad and even a dedicated emergency button indicates this. It even supports HAC (Hearing Aid Compatability).

I do recommend watching the review on my recent Nokia 5710 XpressAudio to understand the small changes in terms of the apps and browser in the Chinese variant.

My full review here along with the cradle charger sold separately.
