This is a very brave and praiseworthy article from Pocketnow.com. They were also one of the blogs asking for Nokia’s blood after the “Simulation OIS video” was found without disclaimer that it was not captured with Lumia 920. Now, it seems “Adam” from Pocketnow realised that there seems way too much negative publicity that Nokia got out of this one instance, while the masters of such kind of video advertising go scot-free and tell the world,”You are a fool to believe us”.
Yes, they are talking about Apple here, which have been caught many a times involved in such kind of advertising but we never have seen tech media going crazy asking for Apple’s blood. Why, so much negativity against only Nokia then ?
Pocketnow also points out how, Nokia has apologised about this incident and also doing thorough investigation to bring the truth out. While Apple reacts in such a way which says, “Apple says you’re a fool for believing their advertisements.” Read more,
On the other hand, Apple’s response to false advertising, at least in the case about their iPhone 3G’s “Twice as fast for half the price” claim, was as follows, “Plaintiff’s claims, and those of the purported class, are barred by the fact that the alleged deceptive statements were such that no reasonable person in Plaintiff’s position could have reasonably relied on or misunderstood Apple’s statements as claims of fact,” In other words, Apple says you’re a fool for believing their advertisements.
So, Kudos to Pocketnow for this article. Afterall, you need to be brave for calling an apple an apple 🙂
