In a corporate win for Nokia Devices business, more than 70 percent of the employees at Elevator and Escalator provider KONE AUSTRALIA have selected Nokia Lumia smartphones as their business smartphone. KONE had approved the Lumia 610, 800, 710 and 920. 300 employees in Australia and 60 employees in New Zealand have gone with Lumia devices, it seems. According to the report, reasons for selecting the Lumia included (not in order of importance): Nokia Drive; Microsoft Lync; SharePoint; and Windows Phone People Hub.
KONE Australia has introduced a new policy which allows employees to choose their own smartphone from a number of manufacturers including Nokia, Samsung, HTC and Apple.
A key element of KONE’s business is rapid turnaround maintenance for elevators, lifts and travelators moving people through high traffic locations across Australia and New Zealand. Highly accurate Nokia Drive with Navteq maps made a difference.
“The People Hub feature of Windows Phone is another great tool which helps organise teams internally. Sales and operations staff have already set-up groups, which allow management to stay in touch with co-workers across text, Facebook, Twitter, MSN Chat and email,” KONE’S Colleen Upsall said.
