Modders flash CM13 (Android Marshmallow) ROM on Lumia 525 [Videos]. Lumia 520 to get it too

Modders over XDA Forum have succeeded in flashing CyanogenMod 13 or CM13 ROM on a Lumia 525. CM13 is based on Android Marshmallow and it is quite a feat to get it working on Lumia 525. Modder has posted two demo videos of CM13 running on Lumia 525 which you can check below

What is more even interesting is the promise to bring it to Lumia 520 too in future. Here is a list of what works and what doesn’t, after Android Marshmallow port on Lumia 525, for now.

LK boots
Linux boots
TWRP boots
Android boots
Display works
Touchscreen works, but needs some calibration
Virtual buttons (Back, Windows, Search) not works yet
Sound not works yet
Modem not works yet
Wifi not works yet

Follow the development over this XDA Thread.

Thanks JLIT99 for the tip. Cheers!!

My pleasure, Kamal. Hoping you’ll do a full review of the port here as well.

Also, looking forward to seeing the Nokia Android devices later this year on the site.

Who cares? It will perform miserably because LAGdroid can’t handle 512MB of RAM, they need 1GB or more and even then, is just a matter of time before it becomes SLOW or has no storage space left…

I have a Samsung Galaxy S with less than 500MB of RAM. Performs quite well with Marshmallow.
You just have to optimise for the lower specs by stopping background tasks etc.

Plus, there is already an Android phone with these exact specs, the Xperia M. I understand this port was made from that device’s ROM.

Microsoft promised all of us WP device owners an upgrade to 10. They failed to deliver. This guy has done better than them and got us a real, live OS for our devices.
