nokia logo NPUOne of our tipsters has let us know about some of the future Nokia happenings in advance!

  • So, seems the Microsoft-Nokia deal closure announcement may come around the MWC. The deal closure announcement was widely expected around the Nokia’s Q4 results announcement time, which didn’t happen.
  • The second bit is very interesting and seems Nokia may announce a new hardware brand post the deal closure announcement. The new brand may be the precursor to new smart wearable announcements and we have a smart watch tipped for Q3.

We may have some more interesting stuff to report soon. So, stay tuned!!

Why nokia want new name !! I thought that micro didnt bought the brand “nokia” …! Some one explain this thing just bout deceives an services devison and lumia brand ..thy didn’t buy the nokia brand ..I will repeat the question why nokia want new brand for the smatr watch

    • Kamal

It’s very simple to understand. The same way they wanted Lumia, Asha, HERE to stand as individual brands. It is all about creating powerful brands you see and why won’t Nokia go for a new brand for wearables?

      • All it means that Nokia is not creating a brand name parallel to “Nokia” itself but a device name that may resonate with customers. Of course, they are going to call their smart watch “xyz” made by Nokia. I wonder if “Normandy” project will stay with Nokia or transfer to Microsoft as the deal closes. None of blogs have given any hint and I am always fishing for a news around that. Any idea?

Normandy is going to Microsoft. Nokia may retain the team which worked on that project, but product will move to MS with the deal.

Interesting.. I’m looking forward to Nokia’s new hardware line. Let’s see what it has to offer.
Hopefully, the smart devices are running Linux or Android like the rumours say..
