Lumia 950 lags behind iPhone 6S & Android Flagships in Boot-up & App handling times

Lumia 950 Speed Test

In a video posted by TechRadar, Lumia 950 is one of the flagship devices compared to other flagship devices including iPhone 6S and Android Flagships like Galaxy S6, LG G4 and Sony Xperia Z5 in terms of Boot-up times and handling of certain apps. While such kind of tests are wrongly termed as speed tests, the video however highlights two exiting drawbacks of Windows 10 Mobile.

  • Long Boot-up time
  • Lack of OS and Third party app’s optimizations

While we can understand that Windows 10 Mobile has hardly finished development and should get better with upcoming builds, Microsoft may need to do something to cut on that long boot-up time and also push 3rd party app developers to optimize their apps for Windows 10 Mobile.

All half baked apps in half baked Windows Mobile 10. So please don’t compare!

Synced three email accounts on a 950xl and on a 6s. Icloud was faster on the iphone but exchange and hotmail were faster on the 950xl.

Also the mapping showed me where to go sooner and had a better route.

Boot up speed… Really, is that an actual test? Lol.

  • Boot-up time is not interesting, a stable OS doesn’t need frequent-ups. App start-up times could be more improved the developers take more time for optimizing start-up…

Yea its probably cz its a technical preview

It shows why many ppl are complaining about Windows 10 mobile speed and complaining MS not putting that much attention and effort on it, as even MS apps/games take longer on its own platform compared ot others.

I agree fully with you, not being pushed enough at all.

Fortunately for Sony nobody is bashing it at all.
Notice how the news was not how fast the S6 boot time is,
but how slow the Lumia flagship is (in booting)!
        No?
You didn’t! – Why? – Because bashing Microsoft is the trend now.

        • Robert

Yes, therefore they have to push over the limit. A halfmade project isnt enough

Are you now talking about the Lollipop 5.0?
I think the problems were fixed at Lollipop 5.1 version, right?

            • Robert

No no, MS have to deliver a fast, robust, stable and innovative OS for mobile if they even wanna play with the big guns. Something halfmade isnt enough.
