Lumia 920 and 820 to have Pentaband support according to FCC entries.

According to a recent revelation from FCC entries, both AT&T Lumia 920 and 820 will have Pentaband-capable basebands inside, and have been tested on both 850/1900Mhz and AWS frequencies. They will also be compatible with both AT&T and T-Mobile 4G networks.

For Canadians, the Lumia 920 supposedly brings the added benefit of being LTE-capable in the AWS spectrum, which is used by Rogers, TELUS or Bell. It will connect at speeds up to 100Mbps; when used on Mobilicity, WIND or Videotron, it will connect at HSPA+ speeds of up to 21Mbps. But great thing is the it would be compatible with all the major networks in the country :).

While many other companies “bluff” in the name of “Pentaband support”, with Nokia you get true Penatband phones. And, we nod our heads in emphatic “Yes”. After all the devices owned by me in last few years from C6 to N8 to 808 PureView all are true world phones.

Though with Lumia phones it was not the case always, as per my memory serves. But good to see that Nokia has brought “Pentaband goodness” back with Lumia 920 and 820. And, we just hope carriers don’t get any of the supported frequencies locked by Nokia.
