Microsoft had earlier listed latest Snapdragon processors and also Intel Atom X3 (LTE) processor aka SoFIA LTE processor as the supported chipsets for Windows 10 Mobile. This even led to endless speculations about “Surface Phone” coming soon with Intel SoFIA processor. We talked a bit about a Surface Phone prototype as seen by our sources and you can read more about it here.
But surprisingly, the Intel SoFIA processor has gone missing from the “Minimum Hardware requirements” page as spotted by our reader Xio and you can see that in the above screenshot.
So, it may or may not be a good thing. It may hint that Windows 10 Mobile devices may not come running Intel Atom X3 (LTE) processor after all from any of the vendors, but may be a better processor from Intel. Or, it may indicate something worse, but as per the best knowledge we have Microsoft is indeed working on a X86 Windows 10 Mobile smartphone.
