hmd key

I recently reviewed the HMD Arc which is one of the three Android Go devices announced by HMD Devices, and it took me by surprise. The Arc gives you a wholesome Android experience with a ultra budget price tag. And it does it all so well.

So, the HMD Key here, which is intended for the European market has a tough benchmark to compete with because they both are priced very similar, offering same design but the specification differs, by a significant margin!

HMD Key

The Key comes in 2 different colour, Icy Blue and Black option. It is a 4G LTE Dual Sim device, with 2GB of physical RAM, expandable to 4GB and 32GB built in storage, expandable to 128GB.

It is powered by a Unisoc SC9832E processor, offers a HD resolution display with a mono-speaker, 10 W charging for its 4000mAh battery via USB C. The colours, contrast brightness and details of the screen is adequate and the mono speaker sounds decent.

The Key offers near stock Android experience which comes with a Facebook Lite app, which can be uninstall. Compared to the Arc, which offers better hardware, the Key feels a tad slower in general.
