HMD ARC

This review would not be possible without NokiaFanTH !

HMD Devices launched their ultra-budget offering , the HMD Key and HMD Arc in select markets. On the surface, the Key and Arc looks very much similar but , the Arc is definitely the much better option to go for! Unfortunately, the Key seems to be focusing on the western market and the Arc, for the time being is only available in Thailand!

HMD Arc

The most surprising feature about the Arc is that its running on the long forgotten AndroidGo platform. The HMD Arc, just like its younger sibling, runs on Andoid 14 Go, but offers a more potent hardware. It is powered by Unisoc SC9863A (28nm) processor with 4GB of physical RAM that can be expanded to 8GB RAM in total. The built in 64GB storage is expandable and its a dual sim device.

The large 5000mAh battery should easily give you a multiday battery life but it charges at 10W speed. What I like about the device is that , it comes with a brick charger, a case and a screen protector.

The display  is 576 x 1280 pixels , at 20:9 aspect ratio and  the brightness is adequate. The mono speaker is loud, clear and is among the best I have experienced at this price point. The rear camera is 13MP with what I presume to be a 2MP depth camera with flash and a 5MP selfie camera at the front. Unlike the KEY, the ARC features a finger print scanner which is quick and responsive and also features face unlock.

You can catch the entire unboxing and review here where I share display and audio test, brief gaming and an initial look at its cool camera features!
