Hide those flustering posts with Instagram’s new Archive feature

For users on Android, Instagram is introducing a new feature which will let you hide or move posts from the general timeline to a private space and hence, be visible only to you. This feature known as “Archive on Profile” is rolling out globally now on Android (and iOS) with a server-enabled update.

Today we’re introducing Archive, a new feature that lets you move posts you’ve previously shared into a space that’s visible only to you.
Your profile is a representation of who you are and evolves with you over time. With Archive, you now have more flexibility to shape your profile while still preserving moments that matter.

Here’s how to Archive posts/photos on your Android device

  1. Open Instagram app and tap on Profile tab/icon at the bottom.
  2. Choose a post and tap (three dots) at the top right of the post and choose Archive.
  3. Done! This post will no longer appear in the main timeline on your profile and is not visible to your followers.

In order to browse the archived posts, tap the Archive icon in the top right corner of your profile. This will take you to private space/folder, where you can see previous likes and comments from friends.

If you change your mind about a post you’ve archived, tap Show on Profile at any time and it’ll show up in its original spot.

If for some reason the Archive option is not appearing for your account, then be patient. It may take next couple of days or may be a week. This feature is available on Instagram version 10.21 or above for Android.
