If you’ve ever generated a great image or video in Gemini only to have a visible logo spoil the final look, Google is finally giving you a clean slate.
Rolling out over the next few days, Google is giving creators total control over whether visible watermarks appear on their AI-generated images, videos, and music tracks. The change applies across both Gemini and Google Flow, eliminating a long-standing point of friction for creators who want clean, presentation-ready media without extra editing steps.
How to Toggle Watermarks On or Off
Disabling the visible badge takes just a quick trip into your account settings:
Open your settings in Gemini or Google Flow.
Look for the “Show watermark” toggle.
Switch it ON or OFF depending on your preference.
Once set, your selection sticks for all future generations across all supported media formats.
What Models and Tools Are Covered?
The new preference toggle covers Google’s primary generative models across its toolset:
| Asset Type | Underlying AI Model | Current Platform Support |
| Images | Nano Banana | Gemini & Google Flow (Search coming next) |
| Videos | Omni | Gemini & Google Flow (Search coming next) |
| Music & Songs | Lyria | Gemini & Google Flow (Search coming next) |
Google noted that while the feature is live for Gemini and Flow today, support for generative tools in Google Search will follow shortly.
Legal Note: In regions or countries where local laws mandate visible labeling on AI-generated media, the visible watermark will remain locked on regardless of your account settings.
Don’t Worry: Provenance and Safety Standard Aren’t Going Anywhere
Hiding the visible logo doesn’t mean your creations are becoming completely untraceable. Behind the scenes, Google is keeping its core safety and attribution layers intact:
Invisible SynthID Watermarking: Google will continue embedding imperceptible, pixel- and audio-level digital watermarks directly into the media data using SynthID.
C2PA Content Credentials: Standard cryptographic metadata will remain attached to every file, ensuring platforms and detectors can still verify the asset’s origin.
By separating visual clutter from background provenance, Google gives creators clean outputs for their projects while still holding the line on responsible AI tracking.
