Both Verge and Engadget interviewed Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop at MWC 2013. Tone of the interview questions vary from excited and eager by Myriam from Engadget to somewhat biased and damning from Vlad from Verge. Anyways below are the major points mentioned by CEO Elop in his answers.
Lumia 920 as the high-end Flagship sets the tone at the top and brings the attention to the full Lumia range.
Lumia 920’s demand exceeding the supply even to this date. This is certainly good sign as supplies have significantly improved over Q4 2012.
High end feature trickled down to Lumia 720 and 520 due to constant consumer feedback.
In both the interviews Elop suggests that 2013 is going to be very exciting, but hints that he wouldn’t take spotlight away from Lumia 720 and 520 by mentioning anything now. :).
Nokia is unmatched in design, imaging and location services in the industry.
Lumia 720 not coming to US market.
Nokia is confident of handling competition from “Surface” and other when they enter Tablet market. Elop suggests Nokia is able to bring a much differentiated tablet to market.
