Some, Background tasks related improvements get revealed from the BUILD session on “Multitasking & Background tasks” and some of them take care of the most common complaints raised by Windows Phone users. So, below are changes and improvements in bacground tasks handling with Windows Phone 8.1,
- All the Background tasks settings have moved under “Battery saver” in Windows Phone 8.1 now, as can be seen in the above screenshot
- You can sort and manage which apps can run in background
- The maximum background tasks limit in Windows Phone 8.1 is 20, but user can go and manually override this setting by enabling background run for the app of his choice. So, there is no limit virtually!
- Background task run for an app can be set to be allowed, even if the Battery saver is on and I can hear many of you clapping already.
