HMD started pushing August update for Nokia 6.1 Plus that brings stability improvements and August Security patch with itself. The update is 381.8 MB in size and clearly brings a new firmware build too.
The update however has removed a much-desired option on the Nokia 6.1 Plus. The ability to hide the notch is gone from Nokia 6.1 Plus as the related setting is not available post installation of the update.
We updated our Nokia 6.1 Plus and can confirm that it is the case and the new firmware has the option removed from it. It is certainly not known at this point in time whether it is deliberate or has happened by mistake. We put our money on update team inadvertently pushing a wrong build.
Many users have reported about this issue on our twitter timeline and also in Nokia Discussion forums.

Hopefully the fix is on its way soon. We will try to reach to HMD team and will update if we hear anything.
