Google is officially rolling out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 to supported Pixel devices. Arriving closely after Android 17 QPR2 Beta 5, this latest release highlights that Google is putting the final touches on its upcoming Quarterly Platform Release.

With Platform Stability already achieved, Android 17 QPR2 has entered its final polishing phase ahead of the public stable launch. The patch carries build number CP41.260831.007 and arrives as a ~510MB update (varying slightly by device).

If you are currently running a Pixel 6a or newer, this over-the-air (OTA) update focuses primarily on system stability and resolving annoying UI bugs.

Here is a full overview of what’s fixed, supported devices, and how to download the update today.

What’s Fixed in Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6?

Building on earlier testing phases like Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2, Beta 6 addresses several major user-reported issues across all QPR2 releases.

Key Highlights & Bug Fixes

  • Fixes for Unexpected Reboots & Crashes: Resolved a critical kernel crash where simultaneous camera and microphone access requests during biometric verification forced sudden device restarts.

  • Fixes Pixel 9 Pro Fold Camera Reboots: Fixed an issue where launching the camera viewfinder inside third-party apps triggered unexpected reboots on folding hardware.

  • Fixes Locked Apps Stuck in Recents: Resolved a bug preventing locked applications in the Recents switcher from being dismissed using swipe gestures.

  • Fixes for Crashes and Hangs While Scrolling: Eliminated systemic kernel issues that caused devices to freeze, hang, or reboot while scrolling through app feeds.

  • Fixes Screensaver and Status-Bar Issues: Addressed a blank screen glitch during charging with screensaver active, alongside a visual defect where letterboxed app content leaked into the status bar during activity transitions.

What Beta Testers Should Keep in Mind

  • Opt-Out Warning: Unenrolling from the Beta Program prior to the official stable release will wipe your local user data.

  • Final Polish Phase: Since Platform Stability is complete, expect refined performance and bug fixes rather than drastic front-facing feature overhauls.

Happy testing! Don’t forget to report any residual bugs through the built-in Android Beta Feedback app on your Pixel.
