Google is officially rolling out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2, marking the next step in its quarterly testing cycle. Carrying build number CP41.260717.006, this update packs system optimizations, UI refinements, and crucial stability fixes as Google prepares for its upcoming December Feature Drop.

If your Pixel is enrolled in the Android Beta Program, the over-the-air update should be waiting for you in system settings right now.

What’s New in Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2?

While quarterly beta builds focus primarily on system polish rather than dramatic feature overhauls, early testers are already noticing several key refinements across the OS:

  • Refreshed Settings Icon: A subtle visual update to the system Settings app icon is now live across the board.

  • Internal Codename Shift: Under-the-hood references have officially transitioned from “CinnamonBun” over to “DEV”.

  • Under-the-Hood Bug Fixes: Addresses background stability issues, touch response hiccups, and notification shade display bugs present in earlier builds.

  • Updated Patch Level: Packed with the latest security definitions alongside updated Google Play services integrations.
