If you remember, HMD removed the option to hide notch on Nokia 6.1 Plus with a software update and later promised to bring it back after outrage from users. So, while they haven’t exactly brought the option back, if you have already updated your Nokia 6.1 Plus to Android Pie, you can do so yourself by following a few steps.

In fact, Android Pie has the native support for the notch or cut-out displays. So, you can enable developer options on your Nokia 6.1 Plus and then use the option of full bezel to hide the notch. Here are the steps,

  • Enable Developer options by going to Settings > About phone and scrolling down to the System section to look for Build number.
  • Now tap on it seven times and you should see a message about being a developer.
  • Now go back and find the Developer options listed under System by going to main Settings menu.
  • Tap on Developer options and toggle on “Full Bezel” option to hide the notch.
