25th April to be the date of Nokia-Microsoft deal-closure

MS NokiaNokia has today announced that Nokia-Microsoft deal closure is expected to take place on 25th of April. If you remember, Nokia has asked for exemption from Finnish authorities to be able to present its Q1 Financial reports on 29th April, so that it can report the proceedings of  deal-closure as well.

Nokia today announced that it expects the transaction whereby the company will sell substantially all of its Devices & Services business to Microsoft to close on April 25, 2014. The transaction is now subject only to certain customary closing conditions.

A letter written by Nokia to its suppliers reveals that Microsoft will name the Nokia’s Devices & Services division entity, Nokia Oyj as “Microsoft Mobiles Oy” post the deal-closure. The deal was expected to close in April, once Nokia and Microsoft had secured approval from China, which has imposed some conditions on Microsoft before approving the deal.
